Prof. Siti Noorbaiyah Abdul Malek is based in Singapore. She has more than 20 years experience as an educator and regulatory affairs expert. She provides regulatory and halal advisory and advocacy with regulatory agencies on food issues. She undertake issues management related to food regulations and training in food science, food safety and food security in ASEAN, including halal issues.  She also manages regional trade associations related to food and agriculture and provides management support.

Prof. Siti started her career as an academician in Malaysia at the Institut Teknologi MARA (now Universiti Teknologi MARA [UiTM]). After serving the university for 2 decades, she left to head UnipeQ Sdn. Bhd., a company providing premier training, consultancy and laboratory services to the Malaysian food industry. She served 5 years in UnipeQ before taking up a regional role at the Food Industry Asia (FIA) in Singapore as its Head of Regulatory Affairs. Her role was to provide expert guidance and technical support to the FIA member companies as well as serve as the Executive Director of the ASEAN Food and Beverage Alliance (AFBA), championing harmonisation of food standards in ASEAN. 

Currently, she is an Associate Professor at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT)and an active member of the Malaysian Institute of Food Technology (MIFT) where she serves as its Fellow Representative. 

Prof. Siti holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Food Science from Rutgers University, New Jersey, United States of America.
